It is the will of our heavenly Father that we abound in His goodness all the days of our lives!! (Genesis 1:28). And He has in a lot of scriptural references demonstrated His care and goodwill for His Children through His acts of lovingkindness, deliverance, mercy, grace, forgiveness and a lot more. The good news is, He is still doing good today, as it written in Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.” God is to each one of us exactly what we need, exceeding abundantly above all we could ever imagine. Like when he was Jehovah Rehoboth to Isaac at the wells of Gerar, meaning “for now the lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land” (Genesis 26:22)
Do you remember the story of Sarah, Abrahams wife? Who was unable to conceive a child. A woman termed barren, whose faith had resigned to hopelessness? Her situation was so dire that even when the angels of the Lord spoke the word of God, concerning His promises towards her, she laughed in mockery and unbelief (Genesis 18:11-12). There might be situations in our lives that are quite similar to Sarah’s. sometimes we pray to God for something, hope, wait patiently, doing everything as we ought to, but then it still feels like what we are praying for isn’t forth coming. Suddenly we begin to have doubts in our faith, and in God’s promises. We begin to ask questions like in Isaiah 58: 3- “why have we fasted, they say, and you have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and you take no notice?” We begin to see our unanswered prayers as part of our failures, and we blame God for it. The bible makes us understand that God hears our prays neither is He blind to the problems we face in life; as it is written in Psalm 94:9 “He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?” The answer is- “YES, HE DOES.”
As children of The Most- High, nothing happens to us by chance. The Lord even before we were born designed our destinies and purpose, all orchestrated to be in perfect synchrony with His divine will and plan for our lives; Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you” this means that things don’t happen to us by chance, and everything is working together for our good. But, there is always an appointed time for the manifestation of the fulfilment of Gods promises. Gods appointed time is the time that has been predestined for divine visitation and intervention, a time assigned even before you ever came to the consciousness of that desire, even before the problems arose, even before you ever thought of praying about that thing. it isn’t just anytime, but Gods own acceptable time which is a time that fits into Gods divine plan, in which He acknowledges that you at that moment are ready to receive, that you are where He wants you to be. So, be rest assured that at his appointed time, he will bring into manifestation that which you desire; Isaiah 49:8 “thus says the Lord, in an acceptable time i have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you” Again He also confirms His faithfulness in Isaiah 46:11 “indeed I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it, I will also do it.”
Let’s talk about the spiritual reason why answers to prayers can be delayed.
Sometimes demonic forces of wickedness, try everything in their ability to hinder the answers to our prayers. The story in the bible about a servant of God named Daniel, who loved and feared the Lord and how answers to His prayer was delayed for a considerable amount of time, is really a good example of what could go wrong when we are expectant. In the book of Daniel 10:13, the angel of the Lord explains why the answers to Daniels prayers had been delayed “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me 21 days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes came to help me, for I have been left alone there with the kings of Persia.” There are so many things that go beyond what the eyes can see, that is why the bible says in 2 Corinth 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strong holds.” There is a constant battle in the realm of the spirit between the angels of God and the angels of darkness. And we have a vital role to play as God has chosen us to be His battle axe (Jeremiah 51:20). It is through you that God by the power of His might, will subdue all the evil works of wickedness. This means that while you wait on the Lord, you must at all times be in fervent prayer. And always remember that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
God fulfilled his promise to Sarah, and she bore Abraham a son named Isaac. The second laughter of Sarah was that of gratitude, amazement and joy. She said in Genesis 21:6 “God had brought me laughter, and everyone who hears this will laugh with me.” God did the unimaginable, He broke boundaries, He defiled the wisdom of science, He did something extraordinarily excellent, and the impact of it was so much that all anyone could do was to laugh in awe. I encourage you to keep believing, keep praying, keep being joyful, because your miracle is surely on the way.
PRAYER
Father, you promised that before we even finish praying that you will answer us. I pray that you would touch your children, that every adverse situation in our lives will have a complete turnaround for good. I pray, that you answer us speedily oh God, and that you break every bond that’s withholding the answers to our prayers. Give us the grace to remain faithful and to walk in your ways. Amen!
